Daegu: Otgol Village ft kind people
Yo assamualaikum
(waalaikumussalam)
We're back again to
my life episodes in Korea lol hahaha i had fun reminiscing about the good old days ceh
So usually people wear hanbok
in Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul because if you wear hanbok there, the entrance
fee is free. But since we are all in Daegu and by the time we arrived in Seoul
is during winter, we decided to wear hanbok in Daegu. From google results that
I found, there is one good place in Daegu called Otgol Village.
What attracted me the most was the price for trying hanbok which is 2,000 won.
Very cheappp and sounds too good to be true.
It is 1 hour bus
ride from our university, so long that we even slept in the bus.
When we arrived, the
village was so empty; no people, no tourists at all. The village was under
construction too! So we were kinda confused if its the right place or not. Then
I asked the uncle about the place to wear hanbok. Then he make a phone call to someone
and showed us the way.
We were then greeted
by 2 aunties who are really welcoming (maybe because we are the first customer
hahahah). They have quite a lot of hanbok for you to choose! I personally don't
know which one to choose because all of them are pretty. It is said that the
hanbok is of high quality as well (yeah can see that)
Now comes the issue,
the renting fee. Remember I said it was 2,000 won based on what I found in
Google? Hahahahah it is actually 15,000 won for 1 hour. Really over
my budget that time. I even thought of cancelling it. But the auntie is so kind masyaAllah she gave us discount :')
After an hour
walking around the village and took 1749101 of pictures, we return them back
and decided to have our lunch at the restaurant in the village. We had kalguksu
(knife-cut noodles), janchi guksu (Korean noodle soup), gamjajeon (potato
pancake) and buchujeon (chive pancake).
There are also other
customers at that time (mostly uncles) and the uncles that sat next to us were
friendly enough to have a light conversation with us. By now all of the uncles
at the restaurant already know that we are from Malaysia and temporarily a student at KNU. Korean makcik bawangs I would say hahahaha. As we are eating,
the staff told us that our lunch has already been paid by the owner :') We didn't
get to say thank you because he just left after paying our lunch. Thank you
sajangnim!
